Parental love can stiffle what is best for us, sometimes. Your descriptions, setting of place, and tension are wonderful to read.
In our family we have expert swimmers,one of whom drowned. We have a toddler who through neglect, drowned. My mother wouldn’t bathe in a tub, because of her fear. I see that I too have a story about swimming and water. Thank you.
