In September 2004 three musicians, who bonded in Edinburgh, (Dirk Markham, Duncan McGregor and Dan Gorman) came together in Berlin. They went to explore an abandoned TSA Military Listening Post in Teufelsberg, West Berlin. Within it’s structure they found a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Everything that could have been destroyed had been.
At times they were walking in 6 inches of broken glass, like noisy snow. At the centre of the compound were 4 listening posts used to spy on the Communist East. They were like giant dilapidated golf balls. The main one of these was situated on top of an 8-story tower, and it was in there that this music was composed solely using found items from the floor of the building.
