T<\/span>he bartender slams down the drinks, but they don\u2019t stop.\u00a0 He knows they won\u2019t.\u00a0 He just hopes they will stop kissing long enough to give him a tip. He hopes they will finish before his shift is done.<\/p>\n

The man\u2019s breath smells of cigarettes.\u00a0 Hers of the mint she surreptitiously put into her mouth just before they entered the bar.\u00a0 His mouth engulfs hers.\u00a0 His lips are hard as she presses back.\u00a0 His tongue searches, she opens, his tongue digs, and her body is feverish.\u00a0 They are falling.\u00a0 There is no going back from this moment.<\/p>\n

The bartender mumbles something about a bedroom.\u00a0 They don\u2019t hear him.\u00a0 A midget sits down on the stool next to them.\u00a0 They don\u2019t see him.\u00a0 All she knows is her thirst for the man and all he knows is hunger.<\/p>\n

In the end, the bartender gives up on that tip.\u00a0 He gets a different job; one that comes with a wife, two children and a house.\u00a0 Sometimes he goes back to the bar, to see if the couple is still kissing and how the neighborhood has changed.\u00a0 A GAP opens and is torn down; Wall Street Brokers discover the neighborhood and move in.\u00a0 The economy changes and they move out.<\/p>\n

Still they sit with his mouth engulfing hers.\u00a0 His tongue explores her endless possibilities; she answers his questions with her own.\u00a0 He is imposing, she is small but determined.\u00a0 Her closed eyes flutter, the smell of his stale cigarettes vanished a long time ago.<\/p>\n

The bar changes hands.\u00a0 It closes for a while and then reopens for brunch with bright lights and flowered napkins.\u00a0 The new owners circle the kissing couple and scratch their heads.\u00a0 Finally, the new owners decide to keep the bar, the stools and the couple\u2014for it is clear they can not be moved.\u00a0 They name the restaurant Stuck Kiss.<\/p>\n

Tourists come from China to have their picture taken in front of the couple.\u00a0\u00a0 Brides cut off a lock of the woman\u2019s hair for good luck.\u00a0 His mother dies and the woman\u2019s sister has a child.\u00a0 But they are oblivious to these changes.\u00a0 All they know is the temperature of each other\u2019s mouth.<\/p>\n
